To be nominated for the California Young Reader Medal, a book must meet the following criteria:
 
- It must be an original work of fiction.
- It must have been published within the last 4 years.
- The author must be alive.
 
*Students, teachers and librarians can nominate books that meet the criteria. If you have a recommendation, email Mrs. King.
 
Middle school students may also read and vote for the Picture Books for Older Readers, and Primary nominees. Stay tuned for more information!
